GNYAIRT SCHEDULE 2016-2017

All chapter meeting and workshops (excepted when otherwise stated ) are held at Actors Theatre Workshop – 145 West 28th St. Between 6th and 7th, Avenue 3rd floor
Because we rent the space for a limited time only we request that you arrive no more than 15 minutes early. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Also we can’t always control the temperature of the rooms so bring an extra wrap and/or a hand held fan. Last but not least – please add this address to your phone contacts so you don’t forget.

Based on the feedback from our BRAINSTORMING CHAPTER MEETING your GNYAIRT Board has elected to incorporate more IMAGO specific material in this years schedule. We are hoping that those of you who are currently in training or have recently completed your training will attend, join and benefit from the years of experience that our members and community have to offer.

We invite you to join us on the following dates:

Sept 30, 2016 noon – 2pm
Chapter meeting – “IMAGO SPOTLIGHT” – THE BEST OF IMAGO
We are asking our members to bring in their best IMAGO interventions – their pearls and nuggets, Make them concrete, specific and between 5-7 minutes long.
Because our Community is so well trained, innovative, creative and has a love to share, this promises to be informative, thought provoking, rewarding and filled with growth opportunities for all.

November 18, 2016 noon – 2pm
Chapter meeting International Clinical Update: One of the most amazing things about IMAGO is that although it’s fundamental Theory and Process remain, Master Practitioners have continued to expand the knowledge base as well as it’s application to other formats such as working with siblings, inter-generational relationships, work conflicts; even peace initiatives (Palestinians and Israelis). At this meeting, those members who have attended the meetings and workshops in Long Beach, CA will share/teach us some of their new IMAGO wisdom. If you plan on attending please notify Linda Schnapp 914-381-0311 so she can coordinate presenters.

December 9, 2016 10 am to 4 pm
Workshop presented by Marge Nichols, PhD (You might of read her article on Transgender in the Networker) Marge is IMAGO trained and we are working on getting IMAGO continuing ed credits for this workshop. She is an international speaker on LGBTQ issues and author of many articles and papers on LGBTQ sexuality and mental health issues. Read about costs and details of workshop on her presenter page.
Lunch will be served at workshop – bring your own hot beverage.

March 3, 2017 noon – 2pm
Chapter meeting Barbara Mitchell – Imago and Money Issues
Excerpt from a previous GNYAIRT newsletter: We know that partners are often wounded at the same stage but develop opposite adaptations. So what we see is a struggle over the use of money for different emotional needs—a power struggle like any other, but acted out in the realm of money.
But since we also know that “conflict is growth trying to happen”, helping the couple to unravel the unconscious meaning that money represents for each of them loosens the hold it has on their psyches, opening the way for other choices. The couples dialogue fosters empathy and connection as each partner enters the money world of the other.
Barbara will demonstrate working with a couple using the Imago dialogue and theory on Money Issues.
